Just a note on any plastics and heating baby items:
If you don't put hot or warm liquids in your sippy cups, the chances of the BPA chemical being released is much less likely than if you put hot drinks in your baby's sippy cups.
The same goes for heating any foods in any type of plastics in the microwave. The chemicals will leach into the foods and those chemicals, according to many articles you can find on google, are much more harmful than Bisphenol A.
